Microsoft Licensing, GP (MSLI) and it's employees announce Community Action Week

April 01, 2011 at 2:45 PM

RENO, NV - April 5-9, 2010 - Microsoft Licensing, GP and its employees recognize the responsibility and opportunity to contribute to our local community in ways that make a meaningful difference to people’s lives. MSLI is pleased to get involved with the community by giving back to local schools and agencies focused on the development and growth of today’s youth. This is MSLI’s fourth year getting involved and giving back to the Reno and Sparks area through community action week.

In conjunction with the local school district, MSLI identified the following schools and agencies: Virginia Palmer Elementary, Rita Cannan Elementary, Education Alliance of Washoe County, and Big Brothers Big Sisters. MSLI and its employees have been provided the opportunity to perform tasks and activities that will better these organizations.  These tasks involve improving the schools grounds and getting directly involved with children around development and career discussions.

“We at Microsoft Licensing very much enjoy the community in which we work and live and because of that, we look for ways that we can give back,” stated Brian Moore, HR director of Microsoft Licensing, GP. “The primary pillars by which we determine where we focus our volunteer time and charitable contributions are in the areas of workforce development and education.  Along those lines we are focusing the week of April 5 through April 9 to go to selected schools to help them beautify their facilities, provide reading to elementary school children as well as career development interactions with kids from Big Brothers & Big Sisters.  Our employees feel extremely privileged to be able to give back their time to these groups and to be able to make a difference.”

This is a great step forward to give back to our local community as we recognize the great support these schools and agencies provide to our local youth.
